Birds and squirrels love it too and they need a special treat on Christmas.
On Tuesday we learned about the celebration of Santa Lucia Day in Sweden. The children practiced writing numbers 1-3 in their workbooks. They played a holiday syllable counting game. And we finally learned verse 12 of the "Twelve Days of Christmas". Here is a photo of some of the children in their St. Lucia Crowns: Wednesday was reindeer day. During small group rotations the children worked on "What goes together" cards and did more practice writing number 3. We made reindeer antlers and made reindeer food to put out on Christmas Eve. Don't worry if Santa's reindeer don't eat all of the food. Birds and squirrels love it too and they need a special treat on Christmas. On Thursday we learned about Los Posadas and Christmas in Mexico. The children listened to the story of "The Legend of the Poinsettia" and made poinsettias. A Brass Ensemble from Lake Forest High School came to Little Scouts to play Christmas carols. Harper was chosen to help with one of the songs. Don't Forget:
