We began our Nursery Rhyme theme today. Today's rhyme was "Jack and Jill". We found the pairs of rhyming words in the nursery rhyme. We did an activity involving spacial concepts. Some examples were: Could Jack and Jill fetch a pail of elephants? How about crayons?
We also did some estimating. First we measured to see how many cups of water would fit in a small pail. It held 7.5 cups. Then we estimated how many cups of water would fit in the larger pail. Then we measured. It held 22 cups of water. Two children guessed correctly! Our critical thinking centers today were: Three-step sequencing cards (put them in order and tell the story); Frog counting; and Peg boards. Today is our 10th day of school. At group time we exchanged our 10 small "ones" fish for 1 big |
