- Theme: Earth Week
- Letter: "X" (this is a tricky one for homework. You may use pictures of things that begin with "ex" or end in "x")
- Number: 6 - finish with our practice page
- Sight Words: "the" and "we"
Next week we will have a "recycling center" in dramatic play. Your child may bring clean recyclables to add to the center. Please NO glass or items with sharp edges. (At the end of the week all of the items will be put into the school recycling bin.)
Highlights from center rotations include:
- Egg activities pictured below
- Completed "W" workbook page
- "W" Zoophonics color page
- "Blowing in the Wind" /w/ activity: the children turned over picture cards. If the card showed something that begins with /w/ the children said "Windy, windy weather"
Numbers 1-10
Weighing & Graphing
How many "baby bears" does each egg weigh?
The children counted 12 eggs. They opened the eggs one at a time to reveal the animal inside and made a tally mark on their paper next to that animal. When finished they counted the tally marks, wrote the numeral, and then graphed the information.
How many egg halves can you stack before the tower falls?
How many egg halves can you balance and stack on the stick?
Book Buddies
We are reading all of the books to the entire class. When we finish reading all of the books they will be sent home!
