This Week:
We had a lot of fun and learning with Dr. Seuss. Here are some of the things we did.
Monday:
We read The Cat in the Hat. We made rhyming "Hat Books" listing words that rhyme with "at". Our art project was hand print "Thing 1" and "Thing 2". The children are telling stories about what would happen if Thing 1 and Thing 2 came to school.
Tuesday:
We read The Foot Book. We sang a song about opposites and played a game called "Opposites Attract". During small group rotations the children used magnetic pieces to construct letters.
Wednesday:
It was "Wacky Wednesday" in our room. We found 16 wacky things in the room.
We read the Dr. Seuss book Wacky Wednesday. At small group rotations we began our number 6 booklets, did an /m/ activity call "M is for Mud", and the children used magnetic pieces to construct letters. (Picture)
This was our "Silly Sock Day". We read Fox in Socks. During small group rotations the children did an alphabet letter hunt in colored rice. They had to identify the letters they found. (photo)
At large motor time we did a "find the matching sock" relay race and had our Sock Hop. (Slide show)
We read Green Eggs and Ham. During small group the children had "green eggs" for snack. (It was yogurt and green jello).
